The womb really does wander!! :) So my time spent studying medieval theories of the womb and its wanderings was not all in vain. hehe. Recently I scrubbed in on a vaginal hysterectomy perfromed on a woman with severe uterine prolapse and I almost believed that wombs are able of wandering :) I'd never seen anything like it, her uterus and several other structures were practically falling out of her! I suppose though that foul smelling substances near her vagina and fragrant florals by her nose wouldn't do much in "coaxing" her uterus back in place. so, as "alternative" treatment we just took it all out :P Fun experience for me, and entertaining for my attending once he found out why a uterine prolapse case got me so interested.
